These sunny days are not conducive to staying in doors and playing on the computer
We did have a rainy one yesterday, for which I was happy. Lat week I was off to the Garden Nursery again and bought and planted another bunch of plants, so the rain and cooler weather was just perfect.
My yellow Rhododendrons are flowering now – just beautiful
and these are my red iris, now in full bloom.
Sheilagh and I were able to get one walk in so far – I know we promised ourselves to do this on a regular basis, but life has a way of taking over and filling our time. Once again we went to the little lake near her home. Just so pretty. She wanted to take a pic of me and I was quite happy to let her
I looked at myself in this one – it looks so strange. Then I realised my mouth must still be swollen a bit even though I do not notice it in the mirror (or is this the new look I will keep when my teeth are done?) I really am healing very well. No pain, but he did have to change a couple of the temps as they did not allow me to close my jaw at all, and my bite hit the couple that it should not have, causing a lot of pressure in the most sensitive area. With the new temps Yea! I can chew soft food now, and it feels so much nicer.
I was also able to finish that memory Album – I am so happy with the way it came out. Now to get my son and Grandson to come visit so I can give them their gifts!! Maybe some time this month? There is a long weekend coming up
We have been expecting both him and my Brother to show up for the last three weeks, but they keep letting us know that things are delaying them.
Once again I am so far behind reading everybodies posts – seems every time I come in here something interrupts me or I am just not able to concentrate, which I hate. When I do read what others have to say, I like to give them my full attention and read it all. I realize, as I think about it, that I seem to be able to come in about once every week, but I do so appreciate those that hang in there with me. Thank you for not giving up on me.

PARROT FLOWER sent to me by Ronnie. I checked online to see if this was real – from what I can tell they are, but the only thing I could find was the link for the photos that are in the mail – http://dalesdesigns.net/parrot.htm
Aren’t they Amazing?
I have been a bit out of it for the last couple of weeks. It was time to get hold of a Dentist and see what I could do with my top teeth – two were just hanging in there (my front two) and I had broken the backs off the surrounding ones having used them to do all the work. There was no way to salvage them for any length of time, the best being a year or two before losing them too. So I made an apointment to see a Dentist that many friends of family reccommended. Believe me I have been so scared of what I planned to do – not easy to think of losing a lot of teeth in one go! It was a good consultation, and as he specializes in implants, with the latest equipment, I am going that way. I did not think it would be so quick! I had one week to come up with the money (OUCH!) and it is a lot!
So for the week before the apointment I spent every day over at Angela – I wanted very badly to make a Memory Album for my Grandson of some of the pics I had taken of him and son/Dad Eugene when they were here last Fall and when we helped celebrate Trever’s 6th birthday at Disneyland. I had no idea how much work goes into making even the smallest album. What a sense of accomplishment to even complete 4 pages a day! Still not quite done (I have 20 pages altogether in the book) but I should be able to do it later on this week hopefully.
Then on Wed., 8a.m. I went in for the surgery (took 4 hours). 6 Teeth removed, my jaw bone into my sinus had to be grafted (built up) as it had partially deteriorated from not having any teeth in one section below it, and 10 implants put in. I had a choice of tranquelizer or not, and chose to have it. I am so pleased I did, as I actually went out altogether shortly after he started. To say I have been out of it for a couple of days is putting it mildly! Now I am having trouble figuring what Ican eat – very soft foods, mostly liquid (I am so hungry for solid foods right now) Luckily I am not really having pain, but it is tender, and I am so afraid of putting any pressure on them. I just feel so weird having this unaccustomed set of teeth in my mouth. These are temps which will be there for a minimum of 4 months before I can have the true ones placed as my gums and upper jaw will have to heal fully before they can do this. I am taking pills which are inclined to knock me out for short periods of time, and am not allowed to drive yet. They are also causing major acidity, and I was quite nauseous the first two days. And my poor sinuses – they are constantly draining and after sleeping I wake up hardly able to breathe. I was told I would have to sleep elevated, as they would be doing this – I am not to blow my nose, as this would hurt the surgery done there, and instead allow it to drain back into my throat. It does that all right!
One of the things I did just before this happened was to take along my camera and stop at the park for a few Spring shots – here are a couple of them to brighten up the day

Flowering Cherry Trees blooming everywhere – this one was on the way to the park

Was given these links and have been playing around. They show many different kinds of daily alerts, both in the US and in the world. Weather, plane crashes and problems, volcanic eruptions, storms etc etc…. Interesting to look at.

Self Analysis
I love doing these quizes. Not that they are always exact in their answers, but it is fun to see what they come up with. This one was fun, but surprised me, as they have so few colors to choose from, but the results were very close to the way I think of myself, true or not

You have little interest in your financial investments. You are not driven by material wealth and prefer to see where destiny takes you.
Preferring a more casual appearance, you are more comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt than in a suit. You don’t like over dressing for any occasion, although you never look scruffy.
Variety is the spice of life! You are comfortable in any crowd or situation, and always come away with new friends.
You are a very practical person. It’s more important to you that the things you own are useful, rather than nice to look at.
Business often takes priority to social occasions. You are aggressive in business, but tend to take the backseat when it comes to your personal life.
You are a no-nonsense, practical person. You make sure that you are there when your friends need you, and like to solve their problems for them.

Spring Flowers are starting to Blossom
It is so lovely to go outside now and see so many colorful blooms starting to come out in the garden. I just had to go around and take a few photos of them.

Starting at the front, the bulbs here are just opening up and giving us such a pretty sight. Seedlings from other re-seeded flowers are also starting to show, which is exciting, as I am never sure just what is going to grow and what else I would need to buy to add to this bed.

My bleeding heart is just doing so well. I was not sure if it was even going to make it last year, so it gave me such a thrill to see this.

And this is against the front side of our house – what is most exciting, and very special to me are my yellow Iris – they bloomed very early this year, and now they are flowering again!! Never fails to surprise and delight me. The others are all in different stages of growth and will not be flowering for at least another couple of weeks or more.

Not the best photo, but I took this from my car as I drove by to visit Angela. The Magnolias are almost gone already, due to the weather – rain, wind and hail – but I was able to get it before it was too late. They are so spectacular, even if for such a short while.

Hope Everyone Had a Great Easter
The weekend was rather quiet with all kinds of weather going on, from sun to rain to even some hail. On Sat. Angela and I worked on one of the lap tops, getting it connected and set up with virus protection and all the required updates. I would never have been able to do it as quickly as I did without her help, as she had done hers already and knew what the process was and where to go or look for each item. Now I get to play with the one I have for the moment, and to tell the truth, have no idea what to do with it
It is not mine, so I cannot add all the different sites I belong to or my mail
Oh well, it is a good experience and a hands on as to what they are like. I can see why so many have turned to them instead of a desk top. Very possible, when it is time to get another computer this will be my chioice (but that is many years down the road for now, as my computer is still new) Did you know they are coming out with a new Windows? Supposed to be out by the end of this year and the word is out it will be a great version according to Kim Commando who tested it out and put her findings on line.
John and Angela sent a cute dinner invitation to us, inviting us for Easter dinner on Sunday evening. What a scrumptios one it was too! I over ate for sure, and even cleaned my plate! Most unusual for me
Just her family and us, so it was a small gathering (One son could not make it)

This was the Ham served – and it just melted in our mouths!

As promised, here is my Album of the day we spent at Grouse Mountain
http://www.care2.com/c2c/photos/view/449078385/My_fun_Day_at_Grouse_Mountain_B_C_/
It has been quite a busy, exciting week for me. Sister Renee and friend Dot planned another day trip – not as spectacular or full as our trip to Grouse Mountain, but fun, nevertheless. Oh dear – I forgot to re-charge my camera batteries, and did not realise the other battery was down too – so no photos! I was so disappointed at myself
as there were some great shots to be had, and I could not indulge. We went to Fort Langley, a town not too far from us. They have a small free Ferry that will take you to the other side of the Fraser River, so we walked on to this, and strolled into the beginning of the little town on the other side. Here they had a small marketplace which served a variety of different lunches. An experience in itself. Another friend of theirs had joined us too so the 4 of us bought what we wanted for lunch and all sat outside on the little patio to eat and watch a train go by.
I have never taken the Ferry – a very small one, but still neat to go on. All kinds of scenery along the river as we crossed it – lots of small logging businesses and different types of boats pulled up on the sides. Just will have to do this trip again one of these days and make sure I do have a ready camera to record what I look at
They also have the original Fort there, now a tourist attraction, that gave the town it’s name, another place I would love to spend a day looking into. The town itself is quaint and oldstyle, pretty to explore, and we did stop and treat ourselves to a float for desert before coming home again. It is going to be quiet now Renee has returned to Texas, her short trip over.
The rest of the week Angela and I went window shopping, checking our computer stores and the web for Laptops. We wanted to see what was out there and how much they all cost. Learned quite a bit about them, as the assistants in the stores were so good at taking the time to show us all they had and explain what all of those definitions and features meant. I still cannot quite talk myself into getting one for me, but we found an exciting one in Staples, and made a great deal there, ending up buying one each for Angela and Sheilagh. The look on their faces when they brought them home and unpacked them was so very worth it all. It made me feel good to know I had been able to fulfill a dream they have had and never felt they could ever fulfill. (Thanks Mom for giving me this opportunity to do something special like this)
