  • I just have not figured out that photo album section – I see a few have started, but they seem to be just separate from the regular blog, and all the photos I use are in my files, and can be seen with the regular blogs. I have a feeling they are something like the albums I make in CARE2 where I can blog beneath them and use them with my story. Not sure when or if I am going to use this feature at all, have to really think about this. I also noticed that in the files I can make each individual photo locked or open to the web – so how does this work? For me, once they are in my blog, they are already on the web. What is the difference?
Is the photo section 1 gig and the blog section another? Do these two together consitute the premium 2 gig space? Oh so many questions, and no-one seems to answer or say anything in the main section where they tell you about it. Quite confusing, almost as if it is assumed you know what is going on.

Just for fun, I did a photo of #4 set of teeth, which I believe will be mine for the next couple of months. (should have taken a pic of the last set, they were oh so very different)

Not too bad looking this time round, at least these match up with the rest of my mouth.

Also had a bit of excitement the last couple of days where my car is concerned. Ever since I came home from the Open house, I have been hearing this flop flop flop, seemingly from my fron tire. Had Elmer check to see if it maybe needed air, and yes it was a bit flat, could find nothing else so filled it up. But it still kept doing that. So yesterday I only part way drove into the car port, determined to keep moving it so I could eventually inspect the whole tire – sure enough – there was a big screw embedded in the tire! Wow I am lucky it did not give me more trouble than it did, and I caught it in time! Poor baby looked so sad sitting up there on the jack while he took the tire in to be fixed

    A closer look

I am so happy to say it is now back together again and ready to roll!

  • Just a short one for now. Had to put in a couple of photos – one of GDaughter with her writing award – her piece was entered with others from all 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. We did not even realise we had a budding Author in our midst, and never did read what it was she wrote.

      1st Place!!!
Her name and what it is for is on this plaque.

And this is the famous SID   the fish I take care of for her while they are away for the summer.

I think they said he is a Grouper? Not sure if my memory is correct. Keep in mind this is a 20gal tank and you can see it all in this pic! (his tail is still curved behind him) I think he misses his family, but is always pleased to see me when I bring out the food.

  • Well, I have now had the next step in the teeth saga Believe me I was quite nervous, after having so much pain the last two weeks. I finaly stopped by and let them know on Friday. He sent in a prescription for me that same day, as he suspected some form of infection. I would never have thought that at all, as it was immediately after having the last work done. Still, the antibiotics seem to have done the trick, so I guess he was right. Today they put in new teeth, which I understood was to be the permanents, as they were  coming from the denturist for the first time – seems they are once again another temp set, which will stay for at least 2-3 more months. Now they are working on my gums to settle down over them and start to look like they should once more. took an hour this morning for it to be all cleaned up from the old glue and the new ones fitted in and ground down a bit to make the bite correct. Now my mouth has a whole new feel to it and more changes for my tongue to play with   I find I am biting the side cheek a lot since coming home, so I imagine it will take a bit of getting used to as it is quite a different shape again. They reccomended I go out and purchase a water pick, letting me know I am going to need one to help keep the gum line clean every time I eat, as the food will catch in there, and there is no other way to get it out. Bought one  first thing when I was done!

I have a couple of albums ready now too.

This was taken at our yearly Berry festival – those cherries were just delicious! I bought some for the two of us to eat, and they were gone in no time at all.

  • A few mixed photos today.

Yesterday morning I went out on the Patio to check my plants and had such a pleasant surprise – these are the first flowers from the Passion vine. You can see the other just peeping in the back there. such an exciting event for me!

Later on in the early evening, before sunset, the moon just stood out – had to play with the stronger zoom on Elmer’s camera, and here was one of the results.

Also playing with the zoom here. A robin had come to our fountain, stood there looking around, guess he was checking that he was safe

Yes – all clear! Jumped in for his fun bath

Wow that felt good! now the sun can dry me again.

And here is the link to my Canada Parade Photos

  • It has been quite a busy time lately. Our schools are now out, but I did attend a few of the functions for three of my Grandaughters. Saw a talent show that featured the youngest one – heard she also was given an award for first place for story writing (which I missed   due to a dental apt.) Not sure where it was from but I do know I am so very proud of her as this is a very prestigious one. They have gone away for a long vacation but am going to have her show and tell me all about it when she returns!

Have been hitting the nurseries lately too – here are three of my newest additions (My little tropical corner) these plants are only lately become available for our area, and might have to be brought in for the winter. I am just so excited to see the Passion Vine is flowering already, lots of buds, and they are supposed to produce fruit. I also bought an Agapanthus root (another one that will have to be brought in) but so far nothing has started to happen. I do hope it takes and grows for me.

      Mt. Baker

Just was so clear this day. So seldom am I in a position to catch this one as clearly as it was from the school grounds. As you can see, despite all the lovely hot, sunny days we are having in the valley, it is still covered in snow.

As for my poor mouth – as I said I had another apointment, this time a long one (almost 3 hrs) where they redid my top, removed the temps (which was finaly admitted to as being way too large for my mouth) drilling, refitting, xrayed, and a whole new set of temps put in, a bottom tooth ground down and who knows what done to it, as it was done poorly and also too large by a previous dentist.  By the time Igot home, and the numbing wore off, I was hurting so badly, my body went into a form of shock, and I just went to bed! Could not open my jaw properly till the next day, and it still aches a bit from that ordeal. But – I can eat!!! yea! for the first time since this has all started my teeth meet and I can chew again. Over two months already, so it is about time. (I did not loose any weight even if my food was so badly restriced   but then I knew I was not going to, as I have never done so before when not eating. I figured out my calorie intake at the best of times is less that 1500 per day, and most often way less than that, more like 900-1000.)

We are having our Canda Day this weekend (was on the first) so both Elmer and I watched our local Parade – pictures will be in an album soon to show you all some of the parade. We enjoyed it very much. Afterwards treated ourselves to a Dairy Queen Parfait for my breakfast/lunch   then I went to a daughter’s house to take care of their fish Sid while they are away. My job for the Summer

Tomorrow is 4th July/Independance Day   – have a wonderful one America!

  • Father’s Day has come and gone. We had a great turnout, all getting together to share a meal at our Mandarin Gardens.

the next day was our wedding anniversary – 24 years together! I was not in the mood to do much celebrating as I had a dentist apt. that day. It is being a tough month for me, and I have been so depressed and miserable with them. Angela, my sweetheart of a daughter, showed up while I was there, and let them know I was hurting. she got information I had been trying to get out of them all along. Result – I am going in next week to get a different temp put in. The one they have in now is actually way too large for my mouth and is causing a lot of stress on my upper jaw, ear drums, sinuses, and this is just miserable to live with. I can really feel sorry for those that have braces put in to stretch and straighten their teeth, as I imagine it must feel a lot like what I am going through. I have not felt like talking to anyone much while this has been going on.

This is one of two hanging Patio baskets that I bought those little plants for – they are just blossoming so well and I am very hjappy with the way these have turned out.

This is one of the other two I did filled with different colored calimors. Again, I just go outside and love to look at them.

Just had to take a pic of my evening desert – strawberries and icecream. We are now getting a bumper crop of the strawberries, and also the raspberries are starting to ripen. Elmer picks a bowl full every night which we split between us. Yummy, so sweet too.

The weather has finally changed to sunny moderately warm days. This makes me so happy as the rain and cloudy days was not conducive to smiles in my mood lately.

  • I am losing track of when I last wrote a blog.
I really am not spending that much time on the computer lately. Check my mail, and even then do not read it all Life just seems to have a way of keeping the days flow one after the other. Lots of little things going on.
On sunny days I just want to be outside, and have been visiting daughters. spent a great day with Sheilagh – and had a lovely surprise when Elmer showed up with his little garden shredder. The three of us had a ball that day chopping up a large amount of the branches and sticks in her compost pile.
Another day I collected some of my plants and went over to Angela – cannot wait for them to work on the back beds, but her front one against the house was desparate too for something, so the two of us dug it up, added compost and planted all those plants that have been waiting so patiently to be put into a home. At least now it too looks welcoming, and as they grow larger, and the back becomes ready, many can be transplanted there.
Grandson Grant celebrated his 19th, so we joined all the family, congregating at our favorite smorg, for a great dinner, going over to the house afterwards to eat cake and enjoy each other for a little longer.
Sheilagh, Angela and I took advantage of a free sunny morning to go for that walk we keep promising to do. We chose Fish creek park, near Angela this time (will have an album to share later as I took my camera)

Blue Heron in the park – a sight I never thought to see in this part of the world.

The girls pushed me hard – did not think I would make it home again, but I did enjoy it. Will have to take Elmer there one of these days, as he has never been there. He treated himself to a new Kodak digital – 10x zoom. I wish I had borrowed it for that walk. I have been playing with it though, and do love that feature (as well as a couple of others it has) such an easy camera to work with, and it does take some great pics. He did offer to get me a different one too, but I have put way too much money in mine. I like it, but it has too many complicated menus to get to for me to truly use it to it’s best advantage. Guess I am a person that prefers simple. One of these days though – prorbably in about another year, I just may take him up on it and see what is available then that I would prefer. Meanwhile he has offered the use of his whenever I would like, and I just may take him up on that offer as time goes by!

    last, but definitly not least

    Happy Birthday today Elmer

  • Wow how the time is flying! We are now into the last month of the first half of this year. Scary! I feel like I can hardly keep up and am in slow motion while the rest of the world is normal

Hope all Americans had a great Memorial Weekend. Mostly it rained on and off for us and is still doing that. Elmer and I went over to help son and daughter start a landscaping project in their back yard. Did not get very far, but even for those few hours felt we accomplished quite a bit between us all. Me I would just love to keep going at it and get it done, but between them working and the rain, it is on hold for a while, until we can co-ordinate it all again. I am very excited at what they want to do and just get so impatient that we cannot get to it and finish at least the first section. I have quite a few reseeded plants and some that need to be split to share with her, but nothing can happen till at least one bed is ready. I did take one day and made a date with other daughter to come and help her clean up her front beds and shared some of these plants with her too – it does look good, even if it will be a while before they are all in full size and bloom. But Oh – am I stiff from working like that after a winter of ease! It would have been great if I could have kept that kind of activity up for more days, then I would not have stiffened up so much, but our own garden is not in need of such extensive work any more and it takes a very little bit of our time to just keep the weeds down as we are out there almost every day (weather permitting) checking and pulling the small areas we do have flowers in.

I have been picking some of the flowers to put into the house. These are from our one and only rose bush that is left. At least we got to enjoy them for quite a while, as the rest are being battered outside.

I have now put together an album of all the flowers that I have photographed for this spring. Here is the link for you to look at what I have

Graduations are now going on – we went to the first of our Granddaughter’s last week.
Congratulations Crystal – we are all so very proud of you and wish you well in the next phase of your life.

  • It has been such a beautiful few days this last little while. Very busy for me. My Brother was here for the Mother’s Day weekend, so lots of visiting went on between family members. The three of us (Elmer George and I)joined Sheilagh and Family on Mothers Day for a big BBQ, as they invited all the Mothers in our immediate family, and their families to join them. The weather was just perfect for being outside. It was a great get together indeed.

    A few of us relaxing

Elmer having fun with a Granddaughter at the BBQ.

On Wed. two of the Granddaughters were competing in the elimination school Track Meet, getting ready for the District meet coming up soon. Both of them qualified with some great wins.

Here you can see them getting ready to start the day, and it is sunny.

Thursday morning very early, George left for home. I had my next dental appointment. Could hardly wait, as I received the next set of temps, so much nicer and now I can eat anything!!!! Yea! He was so happy with the excellent healing I have done and sounded a bit surprised it was as good as it was. Almost ready for those permanents before they are   Takes a bit of getting used to though having so many teeth again

Our garden is just a show of color, so I had to record my Rhodos while Elmer was cleaning the fountain.

And my new bi-colored leaf Iris was blooming – it’s first flower!

Of course I have a whole lot more photos from around the garden, but will be putting them into an album as soon as I feel I have a series to put together to cover the Spring season.

And just to share a small highlight. As we sit in the morning, we can see the neighbors side of the house. Several squirrels just love to run up and down that wall – amazes us how they can do that. There were three doing it this day, but by the time I had my camera and went out on the patio to catch them they took off, and only one let me get him
