Oct 14 2008 – the Day Canada votes for a new Federal Govt.
I was so happy to see the sun come out this morning after a full day of pouring rain yesterday. Perfect for Elmer and I to do our civic duty and go to the voting booth. They say there has been a good turn out so far – I do hope this continues for the rest of the day. It is going to be a very close thing if all the news has to say is true. Tonight we will be watching as the results start to come through. BC up to now has always been of very little count, but they say this year is different. For the first time our 38 districts are going to make or break the outcome. No wonder the two main contenders flew west to campaign here right up until the last minute. They are going to be some very tired people after today, when all the fuss is over, and they can rest up for a bit.
Saturday, I had to go to the Library again as another of the books I had ordered had come in. This time I took my camera with me as it was quite pretty outside. Glad I did as there were some lovely fall colors to capture. This one was taken from one of the entrances looking towards our Police station. The larger pic shows off the reflections of some of the trees in the Library gardens, which I thought gives it a nice touch. While few flowers are around, their roses still look pretty too.
Moving to the left this is the scene from the front steps looking out to the Civic Hall I believe.
On the side of their parking lot the Maple trees are in full fall color, as are the small bushes lining their fence line.
Last but not least the reason for name Fall
I am glad I was able to get these as by next week I am sure it will all be gone except for the cleanup.

I love your pictures, the fall leaves are beautiful. We are going to Eureka Springs Arkansas this weekend for that very reason. Hope the leaves are at their peak. Glad you got to vote and hope all goes well for Canadian elections as you favor. I am like you, I love going to the library to get book and videos.
I know Canada must be a beautiful place to live.
I like that last one the best. So calm and serene looking.
Pretty leaves, and flowers, too!
Beautiful Fall Pics. Hope your right people were elected!
@boydcreek - Hi Boyd – well the results came through and very little changed. The Liberals lost a couple of ridings to the Conservatives and everything is going back to the way it was before the election. Mr Harper just has a bit more on his side to work with. A waste of time and money in my book, but I guess he is happy. With the big scare we are having right now with the stock market and world finances, I believe everyone was just too scared to take a chance on any changes. All the other parties had been talking of some major ones in economy and a new carbon tax – not a popular move, especially now.
What beautiful photos. I love the leaves on the ground. I hope you’ll be satisfied with your elections.
Such beautiful fall leaves. I love fall. Good for you voting. Judi
I really love that statue of the couple in the gardens… So lovely. I wish our library had a garden! LOL
